The day we left Granada, we took the scenic route and visited a "Troglodite Village" along the way. The people there live inside of caves that they have expanded upon, so that as you look around you see chimneys and TV antennas jutting out of the hills. Talk about a blend of old and new! Our favorite "building" was the town discotheque, which was basically a hill with a sign on top and some doors in its side. We didn't get to see inside of one, though, and are both very curious. An obvious benefit to cave-dwelling is to escape from the heat during the summer.
